In this program, you'll find all you need to become a media composer.
Music Composition- The first modules will teach you how to compose for different generas.
Scoring- During the second part of the program we dive into scoring for media (storytelling, from concept to suite, scoring a scene, how to score an entire movie, etc).
Challenges- After each module there's a "CHALLENGE" (an assignment) for you to compose a short piece. Sometimes it's "standalone music". Other times you'll be scoring an scene.
Music Feedback- Every time you complete a challenge, you'll upload your music to be reviewed. These are live sessions where the mentor gives you feedback.
Topic-Based Workshops- There are additional live classes. Several per week.
Real World- Momentum X also tackles how to get started as a composer and how to find job opportunities.

OPTIONAL "ADD-ON" MONTH-LONG WORKSHOPS
Inside Momentum X, we offer optional workshops with renowned Hollywood composers.
These are month long. You'll work with composers with big credits like Chris Young (Spiderman), award winning pros like Dennis Sands (5 time Oscar nominated mixing engineer), video game composers like Lennie Moore (Star Wars, Call of Duty, Outcast), etc.
Depending on the workshop, these big-name composers will teach you about production, mixing, mastering and much more. See teachers and topics in the TEACHERS section below.
In a nutshell, these classes are your ticket to learning from the Hollywood elite and getting a head start in your composing career.
Keep reading to STRUCTURE:
The first week is generally dedicated to teaching and presenting the assignment.
The renowned composers will first teach a lesson (ie. efficient ways to score an action animation scene).
Then, the'll introduce the assignment. For example, Christopher Young will present you with a variety of movie scenes. For instance, he might show scenes from the Spider-Man movie directed by Sam Raimi.
You then have to pick one of these scenes.
Once you've picked a scene, you'll get something called 'spotting notes', which are the notes the director gave Chris to work on those scenes. They help guide you on how to compose music for that particular scene.
Then you'll be assigned to write music for that scene.
The composer will review your music.
They'll spend time with you, reviewing your music, to provide you with comprehensive support and feedback.
This is like having a personal coach in sports who helps you understand your strengths and areas for improvement, guiding you toward becoming a better player.
Similarly, these mentors guide you toward becoming a better composer.
Just like in real life, when you get notes from your client (director/producer) you'd do rewrites..
Same concept here. After receiving the feedback from your mentors, you'll have a chance to rework your music and make changes based on their notes.
Then, you'll meet with your mentor again with them for one extra final revision.
The workshops in the Momentum X program are month-long events scheduled monthly, based on the availability of our esteemed Hollywood composer mentors.
Since these high-profile professionals have variable schedules, we confirm workshop dates one month in advance, allowing participants to plan accordingly for a fully immersive experience.
These workshops featuring specialized topics taught by high-profile industry experts, are optional "add-ons".
These workshops are NOT included in the core curriculum, and require an additional fee to attend.
They offer participants the opportunity to delve deeper into specific areas of interest and learn from renowned professionals.
These add-ons are designed to complement and enhance the learning experience for those who seek more specialized knowledge and are willing to invest further in their education.
The price depends on the teacher and is announced one month in advance. But generally speaking they range between $1,000 to $3,000.
These workshops are limited to 20 spots each.
Among others, we've had workshops with composers such as Chris Young on thematic scoring, Lennie Moore on video game scoring, Amie Doherty on animation film scoring, Doug Campbell on storytelling with music, and Dennis Sands on mixing.

There are at least ONE class per week
All classes happen on Zoom (online) and are recorded. If you can't attend a class, you can watch the replay later.
All classes are held by award-winning, or actively working composers.
Access for life means for the life of this program. As long as the program continues, you'll have access to all its components.
In the Momentum X program, the level of interaction with your teachers is high. You'll meet with composers who are currently active working in the industry at least four times per week.
There are three ways of how you interact:
1) MUSIC CRITIQUE
You'll get assignments to complete (ie. composing a music piece, scoring a scene from a movie, etc). You'll compose the music based on a set of instructions. Then you'll upload your work for your teacher to review.
Finally, you'll meet with the teachers. They'll critique your music, giving you valuable feedback like a coach would, helping you improve and refine your skills. It's a very hands-on approach, with lots of direct interaction and feedback from these top industry professionals.
2) Q&A
Group class on Zoom where you can ask any type of question to your teacher.
3) TOPIC BASED WORKSHOPS
Group class on Zoom. The topic is set in advance (ie orchestral template, advanced compression techniques for orchestral music, mastering, workflow optimization for increasing composing speed, etc). During the first part of the class, the teacher will talk about that topic. The remaining part of the session will be open mic Q&A discussion.
When you enroll, you get IMMEDIATE ACCESS to course materials and classes schedule. You can get started right away.
Time and schedule
- MOMENTUM MENTORSHIP: Starts just 2 times per year. There's usually a one-year waitlist. Fixed schedule, start, and end dates.
- MOMENTUM X: Starts immediately. While there are weekly classes, the schedule is flexible. You can go at your own pace. You decide when to start and end.
Hollywood Mentors
- MOMENTUM MENTORSHIP: Has a set of mentors that are part of the program (ie. Christopher Young, Dennis Sands, Lennie Moore, Amie Dohery, etc). All the classes with these mentors are included in the program. Hence, the cost of the program is higher ($14,800).
- MOMENTUM X: While you have a set group of award-winning and actively working composers that work with you every week, there is also a series of workshops with Hollywood Composers that are optional add-ons. This drastically reduces the price of the program, while you still have access to this one-of-a-kind mentoring opportunities.
We offer easy financing in most countries. Please, schedule a call to speak with our student advisor for more info about split payments and financing.
