In this course I'll show you how to use your ears to set up YOUR OWN UNIQUE template—from scratch— that sets YOU appart.
Week 1: FRONT END—I'll walk you step by step to load, organize, tweak, and customize your instruments. Goal: optimize and speed up your composing workflow
Week 2: BACK END—Reverbs, EQ, Compression... Groups, Buses, Stems... Mastering Chain. Goal: elevate your sound and put the template to mix your music for you (on autopilot)
Week 3: TUNE UP your Template—We'll compose some music to put the template to stress test the template and find potential improvements.
At the end of this process you'll have a template that will free you up your creativity, help you compose faster, and make your music sound pro!
The course has THREE PARTS: setting up the Front End (for composing speed), then building the Back End (for pro sound), and finally putting the template to test (composing some music) to see if it needs any addition or improvements.

This is Marc's professional template - a system that evolved over 13 years from crashing during director sessions to handling an 84-minute score in 3 weeks. We'll study its structure and learn why certain choices were made, giving you a clear vision of what's possible with a well-designed template.

This is what YOU'll be able to do with the template you build! See Marc compose an Action cue using mostly free libraries. This track is not perfected. Just a quick template test. Mix happens automatically behind the scenes. Your template will help you compose faster, sound better, and focus on what matters most - your creativity.
Each lesson has been split into bite-sized chunks so you don't get overwhelmed with a flood of information.
Interact with other students who are going through some of your same struggles. Everyone in the community participates in group discussions inside our group. This is a constant source of encouragement, accountability, community, and a place where lifelong friends are forged.
Work through any roadblocks you encounter during our Weekly Chats. These are specific times the teachers at Cinematic Composing will be available on a group Zoom call where you can jump in to have your questions answered. Stay for as long as you'd like to listen in on other people's questions, or leave as soon as you have your questions answered. These often turn into impromptu lessons as the teacher elaborates on specific topics or starts digging into someone's music (reviews, feedback).
